Live in an American family in the USA! The Nacel American homestay program offers teenagers opportunities to experience the everyday life of a host family in the USA. This USA immersion program proudly represents the foundation of all Nacel language programs, offering the chance for a young person from abroad to improve his/her level of English by living with a US host family. Language improvement comes from constant immersion in an American family. The friendship that results from living as a member of an American family encourages continued international communication and understanding.
What should I expect from my Summer Homestay in the USA?
Homestay programs are those in which the student only lives with the host family, so it is understood that there are no activities, visits or excursions programmed by the agency. The objective is that the student becomes a member of the American family and acquires sufficient maturity to assume the cultural, environmental, gastronomic and customs changes, to respect the rules and the way of life of his family and to share with them all the moments of the stay. It is a cultural immersion program to increase the level of English.
The Nacel families of this type of program, aware that the level of English and the autonomy of our young participants are more limited, offer them a particularly warm welcome so that they can adapt quickly. Naturally, participants must be mature enough to be able to move away from their parents during this time.
Local support and assistance
We understand that travelling to a new country can be both exciting and a little bit scary at the same time. Our friendly local team is always available to support you. From your arrival to your departure, we are dedicated to making your trip smooth and enjoyable.
The new family member is expected to take part in the daily activities of his or her American host family. Integration into the American host family is the ultimate goal of the American homestay experience. However American host families are not required to organize activities, visits or excursions. The participant comes with its own spending money to cover the costs of activities.
Where will I stay?
American Homestay in a US host family, full board. You are welcomed by an American host family who is eager to share its language and culture with a student coming from abroad. During your English summer homestay you live a complete immersion into an American host family and speak English at all times. You are expected to pay for your personal expenses, such as outings, activities, restaurants etc.
Nacel's host families do not live in the centers in the cities mentioned as the final destination, but in the surrounding area, so the participants will be largely dependent on the family for travel, due to the known distances in this country. If the family is able and chooses to do so, they may choose to host two students, the other being of a different nationality.
