You live with your teacher and share meals and social interactions. This way, you will make rapid progress even when you are not attending class. It is a very intensive way of learning a language since you study AND live in your teacher’s home. Our intensive language immersion programs are the key to your success! 

Learning French through 1:1 private French lessons in a French-speaking country is a unique experience. You not only get personalized lessons but also live the French culture every day. This is important because learning a language goes beyond just words – it’s about understanding the people, their way of life, and traditions.

When you take individual private training courses for adults in France or other French-speaking destinations, you will experience the culture firsthand. What should I expect from my one-to-one French lessons? 

Closer Supervision (<18 years old)

Is teacher’s home tuition suitable for my child or my teen? 

Sure. We ensure that your child is welcomed by a teacher who will take great care of him, his safety, and welfare. The teacher will also adapt the language course to a child's skills and specific needs. 

We offer a close supervision option for children traveling alone. The course is designed for younger students and meets their needs. The home stay will be in a friendly and caring family and guarantees the presence of an adult member of the family at all times. This option is available for students under 18 and is compulsory for students aged 12 or under. 

Extra cost: from 150 EUR per week

Special Needs: please inquire about the availability for adults and children with special needs.

TIP! Our tips for a child or a teen: This language learning program has been quite intense, we do not advise you to book it for more than 2-3 weeks. Students under 18 must book General Activities or Cultural Visits in addition to their private lessons.  Consult us to learn more about all extracurricular options!

Cultural visits

What better way to get to know the town you are staying in, than with your teacher as your private guide! Visit local highlights in places such as Bordeaux, Nantes, Carcassone or Perpignan, Brest and Rennes. Depending on where you are staying in France.

Your teacher will also be your guide and show you around his beloved region.

Sports: 

Stay active while practicing your French. There are several sports you can choose from like horse riding, tennis or golf. The sessions are usually individual but sometimes take place with a group depending on your level, on the time of year and location.

Where will I stay and what is included?

All our language immersion programs in France include a private bedroom in a host family's home. All meals will be included. This is a total linguistic, cultural, and social immersion with French native speakers. You eat, sleep, and learn at your teacher's home.

When can I arrive?

Courses are available weekly, with arrivals on Sundays and departures on Saturdays. You can book these courses year-round to fit your schedule. For stays of two weeks or more, the extra night between weeks is free.

How will I be matched with a host?

We will do our best to find you the perfect match and present you with the best options for your individual private training courses for adults and teens in France. The more you share about yourself, the better the match.

Who are the host teachers?

The regional managers have interviewed the host teachers and thoroughly inspected their accommodations. Each host has a recognized teaching qualification and/or university degree and at least two years of teaching experience. They are chosen not only for their dedication and professionalism but also for their passion for teaching. These hosts are committed to providing a comfortable and hospitable home and are warm, friendly people who enjoy sharing their daily lives and culture with others.

What types of hosts can I expect in France?

Hosts in France can vary from traditional families with two adults and one or more children, to single parents with children, or even individuals living alone. Some of our hosts are school teachers who take the opportunity to host and teach language students during their holidays. Others are retired professionals who enjoy teaching occasionally, and some prefer to teach in a more personal and flexible environment from home.

Enrollment Process

Once we receive your enrollment, we will carefully match you with a host who best fits your profile. If you feel that the proposed host does not meet your expectations, you are free to decline, and we will promptly offer an alternative. As we prioritize finding the right host over a specific location, we kindly ask that you provide several area preferences within your chosen destination, if possible.

Insurance

Insurance is not included. You must have your own insurance for illness, accidents, loss of property or cancellations.

Dates:
All year long.

Students should arrive on a Sunday and depart on a Saturday. 

Transfers and arrival:
A transfer can be arranged from the closest airport to the home of your private teacher.

Traveling with a friend or a family member? On request, we can offer a "duo" option giving two students, with a similar proficiency level, the possibility to share the experience. So if you would like to share a private language course with your best friend or family member, we can arrange this for you. We even offer a discount! Please inquire about the possibilities.

• 20% discount in private courses if they share the same teacher, meaning the same language level
• 20% discount on activities quote, meaning they do the same activities and share transport and guide together.
