ABOUT OUR FRENCH SPORTS SUMMER

Our summer sports camps are organized in Vichy in France. This campus is located in the heart of France. It offers excellent facilities: dormitories, sports fields, indoor and outdoor courts, water sports facilities nearby (the ones on the campus are used for the Swimming camp), a leisure and activity room, a self-service restaurant, etc. The students will be able to practice sports and educational activities in complete safety at the campus in Vichy.

All our sports camps are developed and organized by our sports affiliate: SPORTS ELITE JEUNES. Our coaches have years of experience running training and practice sessions, they are experienced and highly skilled. They have a Sports Coach Diploma in their specific field or work in school as sports coaches.

LANGUAGE DURING THE FENCING SUMMER CAMP IN FRANCE

The majority of participants (90%) are French. Coaches and assistants are all French, and foreign students make the most of these sports camps to improve their French skills because they are immersed in a French-speaking environment, 24 hours a day. French is the language used during all activities - sports, leisure time, social activities, meals etc.

INTENSIVE FENCING SUMMER CAMP

Participants can select a sport to practice intensively during the French summer camp.
From Monday to Friday, there are 6 hours of training to improve the individual technical game, the game with other team members:

• Technical workshops: exercises targeting the mastery of basic techniques (movement techniques, speed exercises, reactivity, simple and compound attacks, passing the ball...).
  
• Challenge workshops: setting up collective situations, game analysis, practical exercises by integrating spatial, temporal and event-based constraints.  
  
• Competition workshops: matches, individual and collective challenges. The practice of tactical aspects.
  

This stay is open to club members. The F.F.E. 2022 license is mandatory (a copy will be requested upon registration). 

Each participant will have to bring his own material:

• Complete fencing outfit according to F.F.E. standards (pants, jacket, protective metal underarmour, gloves, socks)
  
• Shoes
• Mask
• Epee and/or foil
• Bodywire
• For 14-day stays: an outing to the PAC amusement park is organized!

If you participate in this Fencing summer camp in France, you will be able to:

• Practice Fencing ( 6 hours per day)
• Participate in evening activities 
• Participate in weekend activities
• For 2 weeks: you will be able to go to a theme park with your new friends in Vichy.

Your French camp leaders will organize nice activities during this Fencing summer camp in France like games, contests, parties, competitions, etc.

Accommodation on the Vichy campus with full board.

Students live in student residences (from 2 to 3 beds per room) with shared facilities. French and international campers share the same room based on age and gender. It is possible to specify a person with whom to share the room. Full board accommodation is provided. The 4 meals a day are balanced menus cooked by the center's chefs.

DROP OFF AT THE CAMP: Sunday between 3 PM and 4:30 PM
PICK UP AT THE CAMP: Saturday between 10 AM and 11 AMHOW TO GET TO THE CAMP?​
We offer 3 possibilities:

• You bring your child to the camp in Macon/Montauban/Vichy and pick him/her up at the end of the stay;
• or you bring your child to the train station Gare Bercy (Vichy) or Gare de Lyon in Paris (Macon) where he/she joins other campers traveling by train to Vichy/Macon (Accompanied by SEJ staff. Additional fee applies). The trains leave between 12 and 2pm. (this option is not available for Montauban)
• or your child flies to Paris arriving in the early morning at a Paris airport BEFORE 9 AM on the camp's start date; our staff will pick him/her up at the airport and transfer him/her to Bercy (Vichy) or Gare de Lyon (Macon) in Paris where he/she joins other campers traveling by train to Vichy/Macon (Accompanied by staff. Additional fee applies) (this option is not available for Montauban)

HOW TO LEAVE FROM THE CAMP?

We offer 3 possibilities:

• You bring your child to the camp in Macon/Montauban/Vichy and pick him/her up at the end of the stay;
• or your child travels back to the train station Gare Bercy (Vichy) or Gare de Lyon in Paris (Macon) with the group and staff and you pick him/her up there (Accompanied by SEJ staff. Additional fee applies). The trains arrive in Paris late afternoon on the camp's end date. (this option is not available for Montauban)
• or your child travels back to the train station Gare Bercy (Vichy) or Gare de Lyon in Paris (Macon) with group and staff; our staff will pick him/her up at the train station and transfer him/her to a Paris airport (Accompanied by staff. Additional fee applies). His/her flight should NOT TAKE OFF EARLIER THAN 9 pm on the camp's end date. (this option is not available for Montauban)
  

Please note: no overnight in Paris will be possible during the summer of 2024  after July 20th due to the Olympic Games 2024. Please plan flights accordingly. Contact us for any further guidance.

French Fencing Summer Camp in France 2024

Each camp session lasts for 7 or 14 days. Arrival on Sunday and departure on Saturday.

Arrival dates for July are:

• July 14th 2024 (1 or 2 weeks)
• July 21st 2024 (1 or 2 weeks)
• July 28th 2024 (1 or 2 weeks)
• August 4th 2024 (1 or 2 weeks)
• August 11th 2024 (1 week only)

Are you interested in taking French lessons AND practicing a sport for 3 hours in the morning? Opt for a sports camp in France WITH French lessons: French and Sports summer camp in France. This camp combining French and Fencing is offered from July 14th to July 27th 2024 only. 

All our sports camps in France are developed and organized by our sports affiliate: SPORTS ELITE JEUNES.

Price includes

• Administration fees

• Medical, Liability and Emergency Repatriation insurance: please provide an insurance certificate

If you want to be part of our Fencing Camp in France, you must consider that: 

• We only accept students from 13 to 17 years of age
• You must have studied French for two years
• You must have strong motivation and willingness to create friendships with other participants 
• You have to do your best effort to speak in French at all times
• You have to make sure that you have the physical and mental condition to be part of this program
• A Fencing sport license (enrolment in a Fencing club in your country) is mandatory.
  

Thanks to this program, you will be able to improve your French, practice a sport and meet new friends. Our campers are expected to be mature and flexible.
