Nacel's French summer camp on the Côte d'Azur combines language learning with activities, excursions and daily life by the Mediterranean. This program is designed for teenagers aged 12 to 17 who want to improve their French while spending the summer in the South of France.

The camp is located in a small town on the French Riviera, around a 10-minute walk from the sandy beaches and town center. Students can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Côte d'Azur while meeting other young people and using French both during lessons and throughout the program.

French classes are taught in small groups, with a maximum of 10 to 12 students per class, so students have plenty of opportunities to participate and practice their French. The program welcomes all French levels, from beginners to advanced students.

In small groups, French lessons are taught at the prestigious school ' Le Chateau' to optimize your learning process. The school, located in an old, completely renovated farmhouse, has 22 bright, airy classrooms equipped with modern teaching equipment. With a maximum of 10 to 12 students per class, you can focus on improving your French language skills at the school, on one of France's best French summer camp facilities, which includes a covered terrace, a self-service restaurant, vending machines for snacks/drinks, a library, and free Wi-Fi.

How are students supervised during the camp?

From the arrival at the airport in Nice, the camp leaders from the Premium Teen Summer camp in France are there for the students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except during students authorized free time.) There are three levels of supervision, and parents can decide which level of supervision is appropriate for their child. Free shuttle bus service connects the campuses to the town center or beaches. Below are the different options offered by the school according to the student's age. Please note that age is determined by the full date of birth (day, month, year) and not just the year of birth.

12 year old: No permission to leave campus unaccompanied

13 - 15 years old: Free to go into town or to the beach after the scheduled activities 7:30 PM curfew. 

16/17 years old:
  • Monday - Thursday till 10:00 pm maximum
  • Fridays, Saturdays, and days prior to a bank holiday
    • Out of summer (08/03 to 20/06 & 23/08 to 31/10): till midnight (00:00) maximum
    • Summer (21/06 to 22/08) : till 01:00 am maximum
  • Sundays till 7.30 pm maximum
Activities

What activities and excursions are included in the summer camp?

At Nacel, students take part in organized activities, excursions and evening entertainment throughout their stay on the French Riviera. The program includes half-day excursions, two premium activities during the week, a full-day weekend excursion, and evening activities organized by the camp leaders. Group leaders also organize pool games, beach outings, parties and other activities so students have opportunities to socialize outside their French classes.

From afternoons on the beach to sailing, excursions and evening BBQs, the program gives teenagers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the French Riviera and spend time with other students outside the classroom.

Which excursions are included?

One half-day excursion per week is included in the program. Depending on the schedule, students may visit destinations on the French Riviera such as:

  • Cannes
  • Monaco
  • Nice

What full-day weekend activities are available?

One full-day weekend excursion is included in the program.Depending on the schedule, students may take part in one of the following activities:

  • Watersports Center: Students spend the day taking part in water-based activities such as waterskiing, water tubing and an extreme jet boat experience.
  • Aquasplash: Students can spend the day at the Aquasplash water park, which offers water slides, wave pools, rides and other water attractions.
  • Boat Trip: Students can explore the Mediterranean coast by catamaran and enjoy time at sea, with a picnic organized on board.

What premium activities are included during the week?

Two half-day premium activities are included during the week. Activities may include:

  • Sailing
  • Bowling
  • Trampoline park
  • Other scheduled recreational activities

What do students do in the evenings?

Camp leaders organize evening activities sostudents can continue socializing after the daytime program. Depending on the schedule, activities may include:

  • Beach parties
  • BBQ evenings
  • Games
  • Group activities

Do teenagers have free time during the summer camp?

Students aged 13 and older may have authorized free time after scheduled activities or excursions, according to the camp's supervision rules.

Weekend excursions take place on Saturday or Sunday. Students in this age group have the other weekend day as free time.

Extra activities

Add extra French lessons

Students who want to make more progress in French can add an intensive course for €165 per week. The additional lessons take place on two afternoons per week, from 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM, and focus particularly on developing spoken French.

Accommodation

Students stay in shared rooms for 2 to 4 students in one of the camp residences, all located around a 10-minute walk from the beach and town center. A major comfort advantage is that the bedrooms are air-conditioned, which is especially appreciated during summer on the French Riviera.
