The school offers optional free or paid activities throughout the year (depending on the season and the number of participants). These are a great way to practice Japanese in real life, meet other international students, and discover Tokyo outside the classroom.
Examples may include:
Weekly city tour with staff
Movie night at school
Japanese game nights (traditional games)
Language exchange opportunities with local Japanese residents (availability varies by location)
For an even deeper immersion, you can add optional modules to your Japanese course:
Plus Conversation: extra small-group speaking practice focused on natural, everyday Japanese (e.g., slang and specialised vocabulary). Not available for complete beginners and may not run in July/August.
Plus Cultural Activities: hands-on cultural experiences on Saturdays (maximum 4 weeks per location).
Clarification: These extras take place outside the core Japanese lessons, so your weekday classes remain the priority.
- Homestay: half board (breakfast and dinner), single room, facilities shared with the family. Around 40–60 minutes from school on average (depending on the host family’s location).
- Shared house / residence: single room, no meals, shared facilities with other residents. Around 30–60 minutes from school on average (depending on location).
- Private apartment: fully independent accommodation, no meals. Around 20–60 minutes from school on average (depending on location).
Note: the minimum stay is 2 weeks. Most accommodation options typically require a 4-week stay, so for a 2-week program, homestay is usually the easiest option.
