Living with a Canadian host family in Toronto area

Spending a summer in Toronto is a chance to experience English in a natural way. You live with a Canadian host family, join a group of students your age, and explore the city through activities that make you use English without thinking too much about it.

This program is for students aged 13 to 17 who want a mix of family life, group outings, and everyday English practice.

Canadian host families welcome students like an extra son or daughter. Breakfast together, chatting about weekend plans, learning small things like how Canadians celebrate holidays or what a “backyard barbecue” really looks like. Families guide students gently into their routines. Some walk them to the morning meeting point, others explain local transit and show the safest routes. Students start understanding the rhythm of a Canadian household, the openness, the calm pace, and the friendly conversations around the dinner table.. This support continues from the moment of arrival to the day of departure.

You improve your English is real life situations

There are no formal classroom lessons in this version of the program. English improves because students use it constantly. At home,  you hear everyday language. At activities, they follow instructions, solve challenges, and talk with the group. They pick up expressions, react faster, and stop translating in their heads.

In the morning, you meet your group and Activities Leader. During activities, you work with teammates, follow instructions, and talk with people at different places in Ontario. At home, you share your day with your host family. Little by little, English becomes easier. Students often say they start thinking less about grammar and more about simply expressing themselves.

Explore Toronto

Toronto has many interesting places to discover, and you visit some of the most popular ones during the week. You will see Niagara Falls, walk up to the CN Tower’s viewing deck, explore Ripley’s Aquarium, or spend an afternoon at Canada’s Wonderland.

Not every activity is a big attraction. Some days are more relaxed, like a beach afternoon, a picnic in the park, or a simple baseball game. These smaller moments often help students bond and speak more freely.

Your Activities Leader keeps the days organized, but there is also space to enjoy the city and connect with the other teens.

What you will learn

By the end of the stay, many students feel more confident using English. They also learn how to move around a big city, and meet people from different countries. The memories come from the mix of experiences: laughing with your group, learning from your host family, and exploring Toronto step by step.

If this feels like the kind of summer you want, you can contact Nacel to learn more about dates, options, and how to join the program.

Activities

You will see the highlights — Niagara Falls, the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, and Canada’s Wonderland — but that’s only the beginning. Every outing is designed to use your English in real-life situations: scavenger hunts, team challenges, and group tasks all encourage speaking, listening, and problem-solving in English — without it ever feeling like school.

3 full day and 2 half day excursions are included. On weekends you join your host family in their weekend routine.
