Supervision at the Spanish Summer camp in Valencia

From the arrival at the airport in Valencia, the coordinators and teachers from this Junior camp in Spain are there for the students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are 2 different age groups. It’s possible to book the “extra supervision service” if parents want the host family to accompany the children every day to school and pick them up in the evening after the activities.

All the organized activities are supervised by the school staff who carefully monitor the safety and well-being of the students. Specialist activities such as sailing, paragliding, etc, are always supervised by professional instructors. Students are expected to attend lessons and activities as scheduled and have to respect the program curfew that is established depending on age.

Spanish Language level

This program is suitable for beginners to advanced students in the Spanish language. Teachers make the lessons fun and attractive for teenagers to help them improve their spoken Spanish while encouraging them to apply the Spanish grammar rules. They use stimulating activities to make sure everybody stays engaged and maximize their learning curve.

Standard Spanish course

• 20 lessons of 50 minutes per week
• From Monday to Friday From 9:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. (15-20 min. break)
• 10 students maximum in a class

Activities, cultural visits, and sports are organized:

• every afternoon* from Sunday to Friday for students aged 13-15 years old
• 3 afternoons and 3 evenings per week for students aged 16-19 years old

Every Saturday there is a full-day excursion, while on Sundays, you are free to spend the day with your hosts, or you can meet friends.

*Normally classes are in the morning (09:30 – 13:20) and activities in the afternoon (16:30 – 19:30) although it is possible that some days you will have activities in the morning and classes in the afternoon.

Where will I sleep?

The Teen summer course in Valencia is a Day and Residential summer camp in Spain. During your summer school in Valencia, you can either stay with a Spanish family or in the summer camp residence.

HOST FAMILY 
Stay with a Spanish host family for the full Spanish Immersion. In the host family, you will stay in a double room with another student. You might have to share the bathroom with the host family. Do not expect the homes of the host families to be luxurious, but for sure they are comfortable and hospitable. Most families live close to the school and the average distance to the school is 25 minutes. Your host will show you and your roommate the way to school on your first day. After that you can choose to go to school together with your roommate or the host family can take you (an extra close supervision fee applies, 90 EUR/week).

Weekly laundry and cleaning are included.

OVERNIGHT RESIDENCE
The residences are located close to the school. 

Services included: 

• 24-hour staff and supervision
• Meals are served in the residences’ canteens.

• and free self-service laundry machines and driers are available.

This overnight camp in Spain provides international teens with 2 different residential accommodations: 

1. Residence for students aged 13-15 YO (6 minutes from school): 

There are double, triple, and quadruple rooms, shared bathrooms. It is possible to give a preference, but we cannot give guarantees. Residence for 13-16 years is fully supervised. Kids attending the summer camp in Spain will walk to school with a coordinator in the morning. 

• Facilities: The residences have common areas, a TV lounge, internet access, and air-conditioning in the common areas.
• Laundry: There are laundry facilities free of charge where students can do their own laundry.
  
• Cleaning: Rooms are cleaned once a week. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned as well as the bathroom, and towels and bed linen are also changed once a week.

2. Residence for students aged 16-19 YO (12 minutes from school): 

For 16-19, accommodation is offered in a brand new residence offering double rooms with private bathroom and air conditioner.

Summer school for high school students in Spain: Key Facts

• All levels can start every Monday from 17th June to 12th August 2024. The program finishes on August 17th 2024. 
• Arrival on Sunday, departure on Saturday. 
• Duration: 2 to 9 weeks

Arrival and departure

Transfer fees not included:

• airport/station shared transfer on weekends: 45 EUR/each way
• UM transfer service on departure: 125 EUR
• individual transfer: 80 EUR/each way

You need to arrive on Sunday at Valencia Airport or the Train station. You will be picked up at the airport and brought directly to your host family or the residence.

On Saturday it is time to say goodbye to your new friends. On departure, you will be picked up at your accommodation and driven to the airport's departure terminal. There the staff will help you to do the check-in and guide you up to the passport control before the departure gates. If you have booked the UM service with the airline (unaccompanied minor service) you need to book the service with the school as well. (an extra fee will apply). The airline requires the person in charge to escort you until boarding the plane and he/she will not leave until the flight has taken off.
