90-Day High School in Spain: no Student Visa needed

Spend up to 90 days living and studying like a real Spanish teenager, without the hassle of applying for a long-term student visa (for many nationalities under Schengen rules).

What is the 90-Day High School in Spain Program?

  • Live with a carefully selected Spanish host family who welcomes you as a new member, not a guest.
  • Attend a local public or private high school, side by side with Spanish classmates.
  • Share everyday life in Spanish: meals, homework, weekends, jokes, and family traditions.

From your first day at school, you follow the regular timetable of a Spanish student. You’ll join lessons taught entirely in Spanish and participate in school life as if you had always been there. This short but intensive stay gives you real cultural immersion in a flexible format that fits visa-free rules for many students.

School life in Spain: learn like a local

During your stay, you’ll experience what Spanish secondary school is really like:

  • A weekly mix of subjects such as Maths, Sciences, Spanish language and literature, History, Geography, and other core courses.
  • In higher grades, students begin to specialize in areas like Science & Technology, Social Sciences, Humanities, or sometimes Arts, depending on the school.
  • Typical school hours run from about 8:00 am to 2:00–3:00 pm. Some schools may add afternoon sessions or activities.
  • Both public and private schools aim to prepare students not only academically but also with soft skills like teamwork, independent learning, and communication. Private schools often offer a broader range of sports, arts, and extracurricular activities.

Why choose a 90-Day School Exchange in Spain?

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. A 90-day immersion allows you to:

  • Boost your Spanish fast through daily use at home, at school, and with friends.
  • Practice constantly in real situations, not just in a classroom.
  • Start thinking (and often even dreaming) in Spanish after a few weeks.

You won’t just learn vocabulary; you’ll understand humor, gestures, and cultural references that make you truly comfortable in the language.

Beyond language: what you really gain

By the end of your 90 days in Spain, you won’t only have stronger Spanish. You will also:

  • Develop intercultural skills and a new perspective on the world.
  • Become more independent, confident, and mature.
  • Build friendships with Spanish teenagers and other international students.
  • Feel at home in another culture – becoming both more bilingual and more bicultural.

Safety, Support & Supervision

Throughout your program, you’re supported by:

  • Your host family, who guides you through daily life and local customs.
  • A local coordinator who checks in regularly and is available if you need help.
  • A 24/7 emergency contact, so there is always someone you can reach.

You’re never alone: our team stays in touch with you, your family abroad, and your host family in Spain.

School Credits and Recognition

A 90-day stay is usually considered a short-term academic experience. Depending on your home school, you may:

  • Use the experience to enrich your academic profile and language level.
  • Ask your school if attendance can be recognized.

We recommend speaking with your school counselor before departure to understand what documentation you might need.
