GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Spanish school of Salamanca is situated in the city center, on the corner of Gran Vía 5 minute walk from the Plaza Mayor, Salamanca's main square. It is located within a local high school.
Date of creation: 1989
Facilities: Renovated and modernized former convent 5,420 m2, 30 classrooms (up to 60 during summer), staff room, lecture room, computer lab with free internet, wireless internet in the building (Wi-Fi), common lounge area, beautiful central patio, spacious sporting areas.

Course content: The program is meant to students who wish to learn the basic rules of Spanish: a stress on grammar and basic vocabulary, oral and written expression, Spanish culture and civilization.
20 courses/week or 20+5 or 25+5 (General courses+ Culture and Civilization courses)
Class duration: 55 minutes
Test on arrival: yes
Number of student per class: 10 students maximum of different nationalities (16 for culture and civilization classes).

Host family: double room, half board (breakfast and evening meal).
Residence: double room; half board. A €150 deposit is required and is refunded at the end of the stay if no damage has been made.

ACCESS/TRANSPORTATION
Regular airlines to Madrid airport
Low-cost airlines: Easy Jet, Ryanair, Brussel Airlines, Clickair, Flybe, Germanwings, Wizz Air, Air Berlin, Transavia, Monarch, Sky Europe…from several countries (Berlin; Athens; Bari; Bristol; Casablanca; Crete; Edinburgh; Liverpool; Lyon; Naples; Prague...)
Nearest airport: There is no international airport in Salamanca, just one national (aeropuerto de Salamanca). The closest international airport is Madrid Barajas. Public transport from Madrid's bus or train station will take you to Salamanca in about 2.5 hours. Note that it is more convenient to get to Salamanca through Madrid or Valladolid.
At your arrival take a taxi until your place of living or choose the transfer possibility.
Nearest train station: Regional rail arrives at Paseo del Estación, about a 15-minute walk from the historic center.
Busses: Various bus companies operate out of the station on Avda. de Filiberto Villalobos, also just 15 minutes walking from the Plaza Mayor.
Transfer possibilities: pick-up at your arrival from Salamanca airport, railway or bus station and assistance until the place of living and/or walk-home programme at the end of the stay are not included. Cost for each way: 85 EUR. From Madrid or Valladolid: 199 EUR for each way.
