Nacel provides non-European Union students with school placements in a private College, accepting overseas students with student visa. Monaghan Collegiate School is a co-educational secondary school. This is a small school with approximately 240 students.

The School has a deserved reputation for academic and sporting success in a caring and encouraging environment designed to develop each pupil’s full potential. The progressive ethos of the school is reflected in the way it has embraced students from all traditions and abilities providing a safe, secure and encouraging environment within which the individual can fulfill their full potential and prepare for adulthood.

Monaghan Collegiate School was established in 1570. The school is one of the 28 Post Primary Schools, under Protestant Management within the Republic of Ireland. Pupils from all faiths are accepted to the school.
The school academic results are excellent: 96% of graduated students in 2008 transferred to Third Level Education.

The facilities include a Lecture Room, fully equipped ICT Room, Architectural Technology and Engineering Suite, Learning Support Centre, First Aid Room, new sports changing rooms and new administration offices along with extensive classrooms which have been fully refurbished. The school has also upgraded the outdoor playing facilities, to include two tennis courts and a multi-purpose sports area.

All of these significantly enhance the existing fully equipped suite of core subject classrooms, Science Laboratory, Home Economics Room, Art Department, Career and Language Rooms.

The School Snack bar, with fully equipped Industrial Cooking facilities is open daily providing a choice of hot or cold light lunches.

Class sizes rarely exceed 20 allowing teachers to have greater opportunity for personal contact with pupils.

ACTIVITIES :

In addition to the formal P.E. programmes, pupils are actively encouraged to take part in the wide variety of optional sports; Badminton, Basketball, Table-Tennis, Horse riding, Tennis, Soccer and Rugby are played competitively. Teams in most sports are entered into Ulster and National League events.
There are a number of school sports teams which compete: Basketball (girls), Horse Riding (boys & girls), Rugby (boys), Soccer (boys) and Table Tennis (boys and girls).

Sports facilities include a soccer pitch, tennis courts, outdoor basketball court and sports hall with changing rooms, toilets, showers and a viewing gallery.

Paid Irish host family, full board, 7 days a week (no boarding accommodation). This includes bed/breakfast, packed lunch & dinner.

ELIGIBILITY :

This academic program in Ireland is open to non-European Union students.
Students must be interviewed in their home country before being accepted in this High School Program in Ireland.
A minimum of 2 years of English study and good academic results are required to participate to this academic program in Ireland.
