GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Learn English in Ireland, in Cork! The English school in Ireland is located in the centre of Cork City, on the banks of the River Lee. It is composed of 2 buildings and is easily accessible from the bus terminus and the train station.
Date of creation: 1978
Facilities: a school library and a study hall; a multimedia room (a 30-minute access every day from 1 pm to 5.30 pm), free Internet access. Discount prices are granted for the english school’s students regarding car rent, access to the leisure centre and to the swimming pool.

COURSE
Type of english course: General English and TOEIC preparation.
Exam preparation: Cambridge FCE, CAE and CPE Exam Preparation.
Number of courses/week:
- General English: 20 courses/week (from Monday to Friday; 9am-1.20 pm) or 28 classes (from Monday to Friday, 9am-1.20 pm and from Monday to Thursday, 2.20 pm to 4.20 pm).
- TOEIC preparation: 32 courses/week (24 General English courses, 4 TOEIC preparation course + 4 supervised study hours)
Course duration: 60 minutes
Course content: oral and written expression, conversation and phonetics, grammar and vocabulary (for both programs).
Test on arrival: yes
Number of courses/week: 10 students maximum from different nationalities
Course material: included (a 35 EUR deposit will be asked at arrival and refunded at the end of the stay if the books are in good conditions).
Certificate delivered (end of classes).

- Irish Host family: single room, half board (on weekdays), full board (on weekends). Irish host families live in residential areas within 30 minutes from the english school in Cork with public transportation.
- Shared flat (18+): in campus residence from early June to end of August and in private residence the rest of the year) with other students or Irish people working in Cork; single room, meals not included; near the city centre and 15 minute-distance from the english school in Ireland with public transport. The flat is equipped with a kitchen; sheets provided.

ACTIVITIES :

Learn English in Ireland and have fun in Cork! Each week, the english school in Ireland arranges optional activities. Students are responsible for any fees related to these optional activities.

Ferries: Difficult access but regular, scheduled ferry services operate between Ireland and the UK (Dublin’s two ferry ports: Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire).

If you arrive in Dublin airport, take the bus and you will be refunded of the bus ticket after the first course.
