Are looking to discover the beauty and colors of the Italian culture, while assisting a school program?
Our Homestay and School Integration program in Italy, offers students the opportunity to experience the Italian way of life, and allow them to discover the typical life of a young Italian teenager, by living with an Italian host family and attending a local Italian high school like Italian students do, during the scholastic year. The program lasts from 4 to 12 weeks. During the homestay in Italy, students will be welcomed by their Italian host families as if they were a member. During the weekdays (between September and June), he/she will go to a local high school with a host sister or brother, to learn more about the Italian educational system.
• Nacel’s homestay with an Italian host family, provides firsthand opportunity to understand the Italian culture, and improve language communication skills.
• Our Host families are volunteers.
• The Italian homestay program will improve the student’s knowledge of Italian culture and language through active participation in family, school and community life.
• The Italian homestay and school integration program is a good way to test and prepare a student to apply for a longer academic program.
Students will improve their knowledge of the Italian culture and language through active participation in family, school and community life. The program gives students an opportunity to spend a certain period of time, studying at an Italian high school and living with an Italian volunteer family. Some schools organize extra-curricular activities in the afternoon (sports, theater etc.). The school year stars in the middle of September and ends towards the middle of June.
You must be from 14 to 18 years of age, and you must have a minimum of 1 year of studies in Italian.
Even though this is not an academic program, we will expect students to be dedicated and interested during the daily lectures at school.
Students are required to be open minded and adaptable, as they can be placed anywhere in Italy.
The accommodation is with an Italian Host family, on a full board basis.
During their short stay in Italy, students will have the opportunity to spend their weeks with a volunteer host family. During this time, you will be able to share your culture with them, and they will be also expecting you to learn and get involved with day to day family activities.
The volunteer family hosts the student on a full board basis. We will place the student with a carefully selected Italian family or families, for the duration of the program. Host families are interviewed at home, to insure that they have the capacity and economic resources to properly host a teenage exchange student. Host families come from varied social and economic backgrounds, and live in a variety of locations (in a big town, in a small city, in a village or on a farm...). Wherever the student’s host family lives, there are wonderful things to discover and absorb.
Between mid September and the end of May. The program can start anytime of the year.
