DESCRIPTION :

This English language course in Ireland program is a combination of a homestay in an Irish family, English courses, and activities in Ireland.

ONLY AVAILABLE FOR GROUPS OF 4 STUDENTS MINIMUM TRAVELING TOGETHER

During the English courses in Ireland, the student, living in a carefully selected Irish host family, will have English lessons with a tutor - he/she will be part of a group of 4 or 5 (maximum) students, whose English level is almost the same, and activities on the afternoon.

Irish tutors are carefully selected by our local organizers, and are chosen for their skills in teaching English as a foreign language, for their willingness and enthusiasm to share their home culture with young foreign people. Each tutor will conduct the program for the group he/she handles during the English courses in Ireland. Thus, students who «belong» to different tutors may not have the same program.

During the weekdays (from Monday to Friday – except when there is a bank holiday) of the English courses in Ireland program, the Irish tutor will stay all the day with the students he/she is responsible for. Generally speaking, mornings are devoted to English lessons at the Irish tutor’s home or very nearby, the afternoons will allow students to discover the area and the Irish culture through visits, excursions and activities, and use the skills they are learning during the English courses in Ireland program. Full day excursions are also planned during this English courses in Ireland program.

Every evening, and during the weekends, the student will be hosted by an Irish host family who is interested in having contacts and making friends with a student from abroad. Irish families welcome the student as part of their family during the English courses in Ireland.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES
English courses in Ireland's participants meet with their tutor (in the tutor's home or in a nearby facility) Monday through Friday. Mornings English classes are held (24 hours tuition in total), 5 days a week. During the English courses in Ireland, English classes focus on pronunciation, comprehension and grammatical structures. Irish tutor and students have lunch together and then spend afternoons on field trips and activities during the whole English courses in Ireland program.

Irish tutors are chosen for their competence in teaching English, for their good relationship with young people and their enthusiasm for sharing their culture. During the English courses in Ireland, they follow a curriculum outline provided by Nacel and are encouraged to be creative in adapting English language course to the needs of their individual student's language levels.

Irish host families are carefully selected by our local coordinators and will provide students with a warm welcoming and a safe place to live during their English courses in Ireland program.

ELIGIBILITY :

A basic knowledge (one year study) of English is required to be able to participate in the English language courses in Ireland.
