During this English homestay in Canada, the participant will leave with a Canadian host family and receive some homeschooling English lessons.

Live in a Canadian family thanks to our homestay in Canada! The Nacel homestay in Canada program offers teenagers opportunities to experience the everyday life of a Canadian host family in Canada. This immersion program in Canada proudly represents the foundation of all Nacel language programs, offering the chance for a young person from abroad to improve his/her level of English. Language improvement comes from the constant immersion in a family during the homestay in Canada. The friendship which results from living as a member of a Canadian family encourages continued international communication and understanding.

HOME SCHOOLING OPTION
Nacel's Home Schooling option in Canada is an exciting program for summer students and their Canadian host families. It offers a chance for students to learn the English language with a member of their Canadian host family on a structured one-on-one basis. It also provides a context for communication, language activities, and cultural sharing which will foster continued understanding and closeness.

A member of the Canadian host family will tutor the student for a total of 15 hours during the first two weeks of the English homestay in Canada. The tutoring is geared towards improvement of the conversational language, with an emphasis on the local lifestyle and culture. Writing, reading and listening activities should be included to round out the student's learning. The home tutor should be a member of the family who is either a teacher or has a degree in higher education and has had experience in home schooling. Tutoring time is "set apart" from daily activities and focused on the student's advancement in the language. Nacel provides each home tutor with materials, including a workbook and general guidelines of the program and examples of how to help format tutoring lessons.
This English lessons program is mainly intended for students who have the very basic skills of the studied language.

Please note that participants cannot choose a specific area in Canada. Nacel International reserves the possibility to place the student anywhere in the hosting country but most of the placements are organized in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.

ACTIVITIES :

The new family member is expected to take part in the daily activities of his or her Canadian host family. Integration into the family is the ultimate goal of the homestay experience. However Canadian host families are not required to organize activities, visits or excursions. The participant comes with its own spending money to cover the costs of activities.

ELIGIBILITY :

English Home Schooling in Canada: 1 or 2 years English study.

DEADLINE :

2 months before arrival in the English host family in Canada.

Prices 2012

PRICE INCLUDES :

- Administration fees
- English Homestay placement on a full board basis
- English Language courses (15 hours in total)
- Airport pick-up and transfer to the Canadian host family
- Support, assistance and 24 hours emergency phone number during the whole program
