DESCRIPTION :

ELIGIBILITY : 13 – 18 years old (according to the country).

THE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM IS A SELECTIVE PROGRAM. EVERY APPLICANT MUST BE INTERVIEWED PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE. APPLICANTS WILL BE COUNSELLED BY THE NACEL INTERNATIONAL'S LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE IN THEIR HOME COUNTRY.  

LENGTH : High School program with a duration of a month, a term, a semester or an academic year.

SCHOOL TYPE : Public & Private High School Programs.

ACCOMMODATION : During the High School program, accommodation will be arranged in host families or student residence. When hosted in a family, students will be placed in a safe and pleasant home. The home will be carefully selected. Every attempt will be made to match the family and student where possible in terms of interests.

For students who are looking for a broader experience of life in a foreign country, Nacel International offers High school programs during a term, a semester or a full academic year. Students will mainly live in a host family or choose a residence and attend a public or private high school, giving them the opportunity to learn about another culture and improve their language skills.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS : Participating in a High School Program means total immersion in the host country life, and as such it is an ideal way to achieve proficiency in the spoken language of the country as well as gain a complete cross-cultural experience. The High School Program is very selective : Every student must be interviewed in the home country before being accepted. If a student’s dossier does not confirm that the participant satisfies the requirements listed below, Nacel International retains the right to refuse the student.

Each student needs to comply with the following requirements :
• Age specification according to the country,
• 2 or more years of language study with good grades,
• An above-average academic record,
• A previous experience of living away from home,
• An interest in learning about another culture and language,
• A willingness to make new friends and to share the daily life of a host family,
• An open and flexible attitude.

Accreditation for courses taken while on the program is the responsibility of the participant.

CREDITS/TRANSFERS

The student is not guaranteed placement in a certain grade level, or that transferable credits will be granted, or that a diploma will be awarded at the end of the High school program. These decisions remain at the entire discretion of the national educational authorities. Nacel International is not responsible for the procedures needed in this process.

APPLICATION DEADLINE : Applications for High school programs are accepted until March for sessions starting in August-September and until September for sessions starting in January. Please check accurate deadlines for each program.
Early application is highly recommended. A student interested in this program should contact us immediately and email us the pre-application to secure a place.
 
Then the student will have to carefully fill the full High School dossier provided by the receiving country. The full dossier should be sent directly to the receiving office, which will be in touch throughout the application procedure and the student’s stay.

France is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and which also comprises various overseas islands and territories located in other continents. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. French people often refer to Metropolitan France as L'Hexagone (The "Hexagon") because of the geometric shape of its territory.France is the most popular international tourist destination in the world, receiving over 75 million foreign tourists annually. The country is known around the world as a diverse country in its people, architectures and landscapes.

France has produced some of the continent's most influential writers and thinkers from Descartes and Pascal in the 17th century, through Rousseau and Voltaire in the 18th, Baudelaire and Flaubert in the 19th to Sartre and Camus in the 20th.

In the last two centuries it has given the art world the works of Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Gauguin, Matisse and Braque, to name but a few. It is also famous for its strong culinary tradition. France produces more than 250 cheeses and some of the world's best-loved wines.
